DeShana York, the Urban Extension & Special Projects Director, oversees the Cooperative Extension Anchorage Office where she collaborates with university experts and external project partners. She has worked in various capacities within the UAF’s Cooperative Extension Service for over 25 years. She has extensive experience coordinating and overseeing contracts and grant projects. Her work has included leading a university system level team that implemented workforce development strategies and contracts with all employers engaging with the University of Alaska. Currently she is coordinating, tracking, and supporting logistics for several division wide projects within UAF’s Institute of Agriculture, Natural Resources & Extension.
