Claire Zucker is the Director of Pima County Cooperative Extension where she oversees a team of 40 faculty and staff and a volunteer network that includes more than 500 people throughout Pima County. Claire built her career in public sector work at the interface between environmental resource management and urban planning with an emphasis on watershed planning and regional engagement. Before joining the County Extension office, she was the Associate Director for the UArizona extension unit, the Water Resources Research Center, and concurrently managed the Water, Environmental, Energy Solutions Initiative, which distributed $5M annually to support innovative research and faculty across the university. Claire has served on numerous Boards of Directors and is currently the Vice-Chair of the Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Advisory Committee, and on the Leadership Team for the Santa Cruz Watershed Collaborative. Her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees are both in geology and were obtained from the University of Tennessee and the University of California, Santa Barbara. Claire is also a performing musician and a lifelong teacher and practitioner of traditional music and dance.
